Meeting with the new director of Casa Árabe

The two entities exchanged views on issues related to Islamic culture and international relations, and agreed to strengthen institutional collaboration.
Diplomat Miguel Moro, who was appointed director of Casa Árabe on February 5, replacing Irene Lozano, has extensive experience of service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Middle East. He has worked in the Spanish diplomatic legations in Amman, Baghdad and Tel Aviv. His last foreign assignment was as Spain’s ambassador to Kuwait between 2020 and 2024. Before taking up his current position of responsibility, Moro served at the Spanish Foreign Ministry headquarters as ambassador on special mission to the Persian Gulf countries.
Casa Árabe was created in July 2006 through a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Autonomous Community of Madrid and the city councils of the Spanish capital and Cordoba, in whose cities it has two official offices.
