On October 30, more than 35 Indonesian tour operators participated in a B2B business meeting held in Jakarta to learn first-hand about the Cordoba Muslim Friendly Guide. The meeting was organized by the Medinas Network at The Orient Jakarta hotel in order to promote the ancient capital of Al Andalus as a preferred destination among the booming Asian Muslim tourism sector.
The event was funded by the Municipal Institute for Development and Employment of Cordoba (IMDEEC) and is part of a package of promotional initiatives aimed at raising the profile of tourism professionals from Cordoba who aspire to attract Muslim travelers from Indonesia. Halal tourism has experienced rapid growth in recent years. All forecasts indicate that 2024 will culminate with more than 160 million Muslim travelers in the world and Spain is one of the most prominent destinations.
