The Medina Network, the project for the dissemination of Andalusi heritage sponsored by the Las Fuentes Foundation, was presented at the World Islamic Tourism Trade & Expo (WITEX 2026), which took place in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, between August 21 and 23. The cultural initiative participated in the fourth edition of the world’s largest Islamic tourism and trade forum in collaboration with the Spanish Trade Office in the Asian capital.
Malaysia’s World Islamic Tourism Trade & Expo positions itself as one of the main international trade fairs on the halal economy, tourism, and lifestyle for a growing number of Muslims around the world. Organized under the endorsement of the Malaysia Tourism Agency Association (MATA), this platform annually brings together government delegations, investors, tour operators, and companies from the financial, technological, and gastronomic sectors across Asia, the Middle East, and the West.
With a global economy increasingly focused on service personalization and sustainability, WITEX comprehensively addresses the needs of Muslim travelers while promoting cross-border commercial partnerships. In this edition, a substantial growth in exhibitors (40%) and visitors (60%) was recorded
