Agreement with Malaysia to promote 'muslim-friendly' tourism
The Las Fuentes Foundation and Malaysia will strengthen their collaboration to promote Muslim-friendly tourism. This was agreed at a meeting held on February 11 in Cordoba between the Chargé d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy in Spain, Mohd Farhan Mohd Areffin, and Isabel Romero, president of the Foundation. The meeting was also attended by Farida Mahfodh, head of trade and tourism of the Malaysian legation, and Bárbara Ruiz Bejarano, director of the cultural entity.
The collaboration agreement stipulates the development of didactic elements of Andalusian museum studies, in coordination with the Museum of Islamic Art of Malaysia, as well as the implementation in 2025 of an academic tourism program between the International Islamic University of the Asian country and the Medina Network. Turespaña will also participate in the promotion of Muslim-friendly tourism.
The working meeting was held within the framework of the IV Spirit of Cordoba Interreligious Conference, which brought together the Catholic, Muslim, Protestant and Jewish communities for the fourth consecutive year at the Palacio de Congresos of the Andalusian city. Farhan Areffin and Farida Mahfodh attended the discussions, which this year focused on people care.
