Malaysia is studying ways to invest in infrastructures linked to muslim-friendly tourism, according to the trade mission programmed by the Asian country on March 12.
Students from the International Islamic University Malaysia will deepen their knowledge of Al Andalus and will personally visit some of the most important Andalusian heritage sites in the Iberian Peninsula, thanks to an agreement signed between the Asian academic institution and the Las Fuentes Foundation.
Dr. Barbara Ruiz-Bejarano presented the Medina Network project at the World Islamic Tourism Conference, organized by the Islamic Tourism Center of Malaysia.
With the aim of tapping into a formidable market, predominantly Muslim, the Network of Medinas has been showcased at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair, the largest in the Asian country.
